I  Overview

The Bachelor of Laws (International Law) was developed to provide students with a good understanding of legal knowledge across a broad spectrum of legal issues in a global context, from public international law and international economic law to International investment law and international human rights law. In this degree, students will also learn the language and history of China. They will have an opportunity to immerse themselves in Chinese culture and will learn the role of law as well as politics and business in contemporaryChina. The program is thus designed for students to sharpen their knowledge and understanding of international legal acumen and to improve their skills in cross-culture communication. This international outlook will help students to start a career without boundaries after their graduation. The program is ideal for those who would be interested in pursuing a career in an international arena, allowing graduates to work in the fields of law at both the domestic and international levels. Students who plan to do business with China or who are intend to work in international organizations, transnational corporations and international law firms etc. are particularly encouraged to apply for the program.  

II. General Requirements

The duration of the program is 4 - 6 years full-time. General requirements for the program are as follows:

1)  a good understanding of systematic knowledge of International law, including public international law, private international law and international economic law;

2)  be able to discuss and analyze particular kinds of international disputes by employing relevant knowledge and skills;

3)  be able to know the dispute resolution of international law as well as the latest developments of international criminal law and international human rights law;

4)  a good understanding ofChina, including Chinese laws, politics and economics.

III. Main Unites (Subjects)

Skill courses: Basic Chinese, Senior Spoken Chinese, Application Chinese Translation Introduction of China, Advanced Application of Office Software.

Compulsory courses: public international law, international economic law, private international law, international commercial arbitration, comparative constitutional law, criminal law, civil law, comparative administrative law.

Core courses: international trade law, international institutional law, international treaty law, international invest law, corporation law, contract law.

Optional courses: international commercial law, international banking law, comparative study for foreign law, foreign criminal law, international intellectual property law, international criminal law, international human rights law, anti-unfair competition law.

IV. Duration Study Years

The duration of the program is flexible, which requires a completion of a designated unites as set out above Part III within the period of 4 - 6 years. The minimum number of credit points for the degree is 130.

V.  Other Requirements

A completion of other experimental units is also required for the degree, including attending moot court, conducting an internship and a successful completion of a thesis for graduation.

VI. Degree Awarded

 Bachelor of Laws.
